We went back to the Children's Museum to celebrate our two year famliversary...

Last night we went out for dinner with a bunch of other little ones from Vietnam (and their families), and today they came over for a potluck. What a perfectly wonderful way to celebrate, thank you everyone!

Giving and receiving outfits

Van's success with his size 1 baby clothes, bought for his G&R, led me to thinking that perhaps the outfits they actually wore would still fit too - and that if they would, it would not be for much longer. So, I dug them out of the "Remember Boxes" and the boys happily slipped them on for a photo shoot(okay, I may have mentioned something about looking for candy afterward but I definitely didn't promise anything).

I find they look astonishingly alike here

and then back to their very different-looking selves here

Yes, Mommy mixed up the shorts, each is wearing the shorts his brother wore on Adoption Day.

I love how their adorable, happy personalities shine through in these next photos

Daddy insisted on scooping them up for a photo - perhaps he was re-creating memories

Proud of you

A few days ago Max asked his Daddy for the potty, then went and used it. Nothing since... but hey, once is better than never.

Yesterday Vanh had to go to CHEO for a blood test (thyroid check). Mommy was... a little anxious. The last one took four adults to hold him still. But except for a little whimper the second the needle went in, Vanh didn't cry at all! We had a lovely morning together.

Tết party

All dressed up for the party - they chose these traditional Chinese outfits from the "special" drawer.
Vanh's is size one, which is the smallest size for Vietnamese children's clothes. It was bought for him to wear at our giving and receiving ceremony, but the boys were already so scared we didn't have the heart to change them at the time. He's had plenty of chances to wear it since - and we have the matching outfits their nannies dressed them that day in to treasure.
Max's is size two. Anyone know where I can get traditional Asian outfits in size four around here?
Did you notice earlier when I said, "My first visitor for Tet..." as opposed to "Our first visitor..."? That was because my parents were the first visitors to our house that day (while I was at work). What a perfect gift for the year of the cat!
This is what their faces look like when they see their Auntie Steffie coming up the walk...

Tết fête continues

That didn't last long. Specifically it didn't last the 3.2 seconds it took me to hand the lantern to Vanh after it was together and pick up the camera. Well, it was the wrong colour for New Year's anyway - the boys correctly identified it as a "moon lantern"
New shoes, with Diego, and Little Cub, and Dora's backpack! Vanh's are darker blue, and his Diego has a drum.
Happy Year of the... Cat?
There's something simian about these kitties, but their paws and jaws are cat-like enough... What do you think?
Baby bottles for their babies!
The boys tried chocolate covered almonds for the first time this year. It certainly made them... energetic. Here is Vanh drumming on Daddy:

Chúc mừng năm mới!

My sister was my first visitor again, with apple bread and a gift card for our favourite restaurant group. Another lucky year ahead!
