Here we are in the Hong Kong airport. Very exciting to get some daylight after more than 24 hours in the dark! It is 7:32am here (6:32am in Vietnam)
We are doing well and the flights so far have been good. With some wiggling I was able to curl up on the floor under our seats and get some sleep. I also slept on the floor here in the Hong Kong airport.
Mom is fine - it is not fun to travel with a cast but she is a trooper. It has come in useful as we were not given seats together - when I tell the cabin staff that "My poor 70-yr-old mother has a cast and can't sit by herself" they don't give up until they have switched people around to seat us together. Mom is a little chagrined at how this trip has "aged" her, hee hee! (Just to make that VERY clear - she is NOT seventy!)
Woody is delighted that his Habs finally won a game, now that he is off the continent.
Notes to those just behind me:
1)When you check in, insist that your bags get tagged to go where you are going. If you don't, you will end up having to collect and re-check your baggage at each transfer.
2)The international plane has lots of toys! There is a built in console for each person with 100s of movies, TV shows, etc to pick from. Cathay also provides blankets, pillows, headphones, facecloth, toothbrush, and snacks any time you ask.
3)It's free to use these computers at the Hong Kong airport - as long as you buy a coffee. A coffee costs $7 Canadian.
Much love to all!
